• Greetings and welcome to my page!

My name is D. Janelly Arce and I am an English teacher here at T.W. Andrews High School. While I have experience teaching other courses (English 1-4) and 7th grade Language Arts, my specialty is English 1 (Freshmen).

I began my teaching adventure in 2008 where I served the students at Neil Armstrong Middle School in Forest Grove, Oregon. I served as an instructional assistant primarily serving English Language Learners. I did that for 8 years! Being bilingual truly helped me connect with students whose primary language was not English. I find that I still have this strength.

I am a proud graduate of East Rutherford High School in Forest City, North Carolina. Go Cavs! I pursued my bachelors at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. Go Vikings! I advanced my studies at the North Carolina A&T where I earned my master of arts in teaching with a focus on secondary English education.

I truly believe that it takes a village to raise a child. One of the strongest tools I have is the strength of the community. I love to reach out to parents and guardians when learning about my students. This allows me to better serve families and my students. I believe we are all in it together. Every day is a day to learn, grow and go to new places.

    Cheers !

    Miss D. Janelly Arce
