Welcome to Earth and Environmental Science! I am excited to embark on this new journey with your child and I hope by the end of this course that I have instilled a love of learning and science that will last throughout your child’s educational career.
I am eager to learn about my students and tell them about myself. My name is Kasheena Burris and I will be teaching Earth/Environmental Science and Biology. I received my Bachelor of Science in Laboratory Animal Science and my Master of Science in Biology from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Science has always been a passion of mine.
This semester in Earth/Environmental science we will be covering the following units: Astronomy which is the study of our universe, the Lithosphere which encompasses our earth systems, the Hydrosphere which consists of the water systems on earth, the Atmosphere, Global Climate Change which will consist of analyzing patterns of climate change over time, Human Behaviors in how they affect the sustainability of our earth, and the Biosphere which will consist of how all of these systems work together.
I am attaching a copy of my rules and expectations for my classroom to make you aware and so that we can remain on the same page this semester. I am also attaching a student data form which requests basic information about you and your child. This will provide me with your best contact information. I will also share with you my contact information. The best way to contact me is through email: firstname.lastname@example.org. I can also be reached by phone: (336) 819-2800
Again, I look forward to teaching your child and working with you to help your child reach their full potential. Please don’t hesitate to contact me. Thank you.
