Welcome to Garcia's House! Actually, it is an English Class, but it is also home in many ways. This is my ninth year teaching at T. W. Andrews High School, and I can say that this is one of the best schools I have taught at! The students are what make it great! There is a lot of HEART in this little school. That is what makes Andrews special.
So...Who am I? I have been teaching for twenty-six years and in North Carolina for the last eighteen years. I am originally from South Florida and started my teaching career in Broward County Schools. I have taught in both big and small school settings, including an early college high school. I have two children. My youngest child just graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill last year. She is a graduate of Andrews Class of 2016. My husband worked here with me, and now my son Michael works here as well. I love animals, especially bunnies and cats. We have two cats and two rabbits. We also have hermit crabs!
This year I am teaching:
English II
English IV Regular and Honors
AP Literature and Composition
PSST! (I have all the senior English classes!) I am so excited.
My cell number is: 336-259-6112
It is better to text me than call me. I usually don't respond to numbers that I don't know. When you text, put your name and your student's name in the text. Thank you!
I believe that life is a good story and we all have one in us.
