Welcome to the wonderful and exciting world of Civics and Economics and African American History.  I feel honored and privileged to have the opportunity to teach your student. You will be on a whirlwind tour of the American Constitution, how the American Government has shaped society, the North Carolina Constitution and various principles of Economics. We will be studying government and how it affects our day-to-day lives as American citizens.

As a teacher with numerous responsibilities, I am mindful that you will be taking other courses, participating in extra-curricular activities, and in some cases, holding a job.  It is my intent to make sure that all of my students succeed while at the same time holding them accountable for being punctual, prepared, and responsible enough to handle the responsibilities of high school.  The most “valued” employees are those that come to work on time and prepared to work.  I teach because I am committed to helping every child succeed in high school and in the extremely competitive workforce that is just a few short years away.
