GCS has been my teaching home since 2007; I taught AP English at The Weaver Academy, English I-IV Honors, AP English, and Yearbook at Northern Guilford High School, and VSN students at The Academy at Lincoln. This is my second year at Greensboro College Middle College (GCMC) where I am teaching AP English, English IV-Honors, Creative Writing, and Multicultural Literature.

GCMC 12th grade English courses are student focused, rely on student-led discussions and text-grounded discourse, analysis, and writing. We incorporate Socratic Seminars to develop and enhance students' critical thinking skills, couple curriculum with authentic real world project-based learning, utilize a variety of formal and informal assessments, engage students in research-based interventions and enrichment, and integrate social emotional learning and skills for life! Our goals are to meet each student where she/he is, continue to develop every student's intellectual skills, assure key concept mastery, and provide a variety of strategies to enrich every student's life beyond high school, no matter which pathway is chosen.

Students interested in participating in Service Learning are encouraged to create their account in X2VOL.com and see me if they have any questions or need support.

Creative Writing students will create, design, and publish a creative journal in the spring of 2023.  All GCMC students are encouraged to submit their creative works (Photography, Artwork, Short Stories, Poems, etc.) for consideration in the publication.
