    Welcome to The Ranch! I am the PROUD Principal of Southwest Guilford Middle School, and it is an honor to serve you in this capacity for the 2022-23 school year!

    Education is my life, and I am passionate about making a difference and empowering our students to positively impact the world with their unique gifts and talents. We have PHENOMENAL students at Southwest Guilford Middle School who are the reason and motivation for EVERYTHING we do! As a school, we will work diligently with our families and community to cultivate student LEADERS. We believe in the following motto at SWMS: When asked the question “Who Are You?”- here is the response: “I am gifted and talented. I am a high achiever. It’s NOT my aptitude BUT my attitude that determines my altitude”!

     

    I come to you with twenty-one years of educational experience spanning from grades K-12 as a middle school Science/Math classroom teacher, elementary Curriculum Facilitator, NC Principal Fellow, and a middle and high school Principal. I have a BS in Biology from Spelman College, Master of Arts in Conflict Resolution, Master of School Administration, Specialist in Education, and Doctor of Education degrees from UNC-Greensboro.

     

    We have an outstanding staff at SWMS! I anticipate a most successful year as we support the academic, social, and emotional growth of EVERY student. Being a part of your educational village, I am here to help you in any way possible. I believe every student in our building can and will achieve greatness with all of us working TOGETHER.
