Hi, 6th graders! I am Monica James and I graduated from Western Carolina University in 2014 with a degree in Social Sciences Education and History. I am so excited to be starting my seventh year as a Northwest Viking and my 11th year of teaching! I've had the opportunity to teach both high school and middle school social studies classes in my career but 6th grade is by far my favorite! I'm looking forward to a great school year learning more about geography and Ancient World History!

Outside of the classroom, I am a mom to two awesome little ones, Hudson and Rowan. Our family enjoys traveling and visiting new parks and museums in our free time. We are dedicated Target shoppers and enjoy pizza, Chick-fil-a and frozen yogurt!
