Hello Nighthawks! I'm Mrs. Jordan! Welcome to 7th grade English Language Arts. We are going to have a fun year of reading, writing, and discussion. I am so excited about getting to know you and working with you this year!
I am a graduate of ECU and UNCG. I hold my bachelor's in Broadcast Journalism and my masters in Elementary Education. I am originally from Winston-Salem, but I currently live with my family in Oak Ridge. We have three children and our golden retriever. When we're not at home, we spend our time in Southport or at the beach. I am a regular at Chick-Fil-A and Target, and I love to read in my downtime.
While you are taking my class, please be sure to select a book for your independent reading. My preference is that this is a new book you haven't read before. Each day we will apply our new skills to your independent reading. If you do not have a book at home, we will set up a conference time to find something that you will enjoy reading! I am looking forward to spending time with your student this year and getting to know him/her as a reader and writer. We will be working in small groups for differentiated learning, as well as whole class, partner work, and independent learning.
