Ms. Larissa Purvis
Ms. Larissa Purvis is in her 17th year of education with Guilford County Schools. In those 17 years, she has worked 4 years as an ACES Site Coordinator at Murphey Academy and the last 13 years has been spent as a high school English teacher. In conjunction with teaching high school, she has also spent the last 13 years working as an adjunct instructor at school such as; Winston-Salem State University, Forsyth Technical Community College, and North Carolina Agriculture and Technical State University where she taught freshmen introductory level writing courses.
Ms. Purvis received a BA degree in English from UNCG, a MS degree in Secondary Education from NC A&T State University, and an additional MS degree in K-12 Education Studies from Capella University. She is currently working on an Ed.S degree in Adult and Developmental Education from Appalachian State University.
A native of Bethel, NC, Ms. Purvis has one son and two granddaughters. She is happy to join the Western Guilford High School community as the Curriculum Facilitator.
