¡Hola! My name is Sandra Umholtz. I am from Colombia South America. I received my B.A. in Teaching English as a Second Language from University of Valle in Cali Colombia, and my Master’s degree in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language from University of Puerto Rico. This is my seventh year teaching in North Carolina. I had my first experience as a teacher in high school when I was 19. That wonderful experience changed my life and made me study hard to be a great teacher and inspire my students to succeed in their learning of a second language. I enjoy so much teaching to my students because teaching is my passion. I love sharing about my country and my culture with my students. I love learning new things, now I'm working on getting my National Board Certification to improve my practice and offers my students a better learning environment. Also I love reading a book, dancing and cook Colombian food for my husband and my stepson Caleb. I enjoy the soccer games of my sons Felipe and Nicolas. And I love visiting places to learn more and more about people, culture and traditions. I travel to my country every year to see my parents and my siblings. Last year I visited France, it was amazing trip. My next destination will be Spain and Italy.
