Welcome to Ms. Chacon’s class!

My name is Mabel A. Chacon. I have been an ESL teacher since 1996, first in my country of origin – Argentina, and since 2001 in the United States. I hold a NC Teaching license in English K-12, Business, and ESL. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in ESL and a bachelor’s degree in English & Spanish translation from the Languages College, National University of Cordoba, Argentina. In addition, I completed a master’s degree in Business and Administration with a concentration in Human Resources issued by the University of Phoenix.

My commitment, as a member of the EL Department is to help English Language Learners acquire the necessary language skills to succeed, not only in school, but in life as well. I believe that every student, regardless his or her nationality or circumstances, has the potential to become a productive and valuable member of our community if learning and responsibility are in place. Excellence in learning and succeeding is achievable through education and a strong desire to become a victor instead of a victim. Educators are here to support you all in this educational journey!
