I am a Carolinian whose motivation in life has been rooted around the prioritization of education. My interests in argument led to me to begin my study of mathematics at Virginia State University. In deciding to become a lifelong learner I have dedicated my time to being a math educator. While in attendance, I found that Math for America's core values resonated with me and with the educator that I wanted to be. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, and as a Math for America Fellow, I graduated from City College of New York with a master’s degree in Secondary Math Education. Although, I have a had a lot of time in the classroom, I have been teaching since 2014. I taught at two schools in the South Bronx and decided to move closer to family. I am excited to join Guilford County Schools and look forward to working with the Grimsley community! I continue to aspire to be a math teacher who increases interest and confidence in mathematics.
