  • Principal, Ged O'Donnell

    Gerald (Ged) O’Donnell started as principal of Grimsley High on July 16, 2018. O’Donnell has been principal at Kiser Middle since 2015, and also served as principal at Montlieu Academy of Technology. While there he was named GCS Principal of the Year in 2013. He also served as an assistant principal at Northeast High and as a teacher, curriculum facilitator and Title I coordinator at Bessemer Elementary. He holds degrees from UNCG and Leeds University in England.

    Assistant Principal, Lashaunda Brown

    LaShaunda Brown is a first year Whirlie. Her career in GCS began in 2008.  Ms. Brown spent 6 years teaching between Jones, Vandalia, and Parkview Elementary Schools. She also taught at Hairston Middle School for 3 years, and served as a reading specialist for Walkertown High School in WSFCS. Ms. Brown taught at GTCC as well, helping adult students prepare for entrance into the GED program. She earned both her Elementary Education and K-12 Reading degrees from UNC-Charlotte. Ms. Brown is a NC Teaching Fellows recipient, and a current NC Principal Fellow.

    Assistant Principal, Christopher Burnette 

    Christopher Burnette, comes to Grimsley with a background in banking and marketing. He has served Guilford County Schools for the past eight years in many capacities. His most recent role was Assistant Principal at Weaver Academy. He as also served as treasurer for Sedgefield Elementary, a Business Ed and Marketing teacher at T. Wingate Andrews High School, the basketball coach for Jackson Middle School and the JV Men’s basketball coach at T. W. Andrews HS. During his time at TW Andrews, I was named Teacher of the Year.  He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. His master’s degree in education comes from High Point University. He is an avid UNC-Chapel Hill enthusiast in all sports and a Tampa Bay Buccaneer fanatic. He looks forward to working with the students, staff, and community at Grimsley High School, where tradition meets tomorrow.

    Assistant Principal, Yvonne Eason

    Yvonne Eason currently serves as an Assistant Principal at Grimsley Senior High School. Prior to this position she was the Coordinator of Character Development & Service-Learning for Guilford County Schools (GCS) and led GCS to becoming a national district of character. She is a dedicated educator that started her career as an instructional technology facilitator at Swann Middle School and then transitioned to the Early Middle College at North Carolina A&T State University as a business education teacher. Ms. Eason received a bachelor of science and master's degree at NC Agricultural & Technical State University in which she is certified in Business Education (6-12) and Reading Education (K-12). 

    Assistant Principal, Anna Hartgrove

    Anna Hartgrove is entering her 10th year in education and her 1st year as a Whirlie. She spent the last five years at Kiser Middle School where she taught 8th grade Math and Science and 7th grade Math. She also served as the Athletic Director for Kiser Middle School for the last 4 years. Prior to Kiser Middle School, she served as an Exceptional Children's teacher for Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School. Miss Hartgrove received her Masters in School Administration from Appalachian State University in December of 2018. She is excited to be joining the Grimsley Community and ready to help the Whirlie Students, Staff, Parents, and Community! Go Whirlies!

    Assistant Principal, Alex Ingram

    Alex Ingram is a first year school administrator.  He has been an educator for 14 years in positions ranging from teacher to testing coordinator.  He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Fayetteville State University and will graduate in May 2019 with a Masters in Executive Leadership at Gardner-Webb University. He is married and a father of four children.
