Welcome to ACES at Johnson Street Global Studies

  • The Johnson Street ACES Program provides quality academic, enrichment and recreational activities for students currently enrolled at Johnson Street Global Studies. The program is licensed with a 4 Star Rating from the North Carolina Division of Child Development, a Superior Rating from the Guilford County Health Department and is one of THE BEST after school programs in Guilford County!

ACES is offered from dismissal until 6:00 p.m. every day that school is in session for students, as well as from 7:30-6:00 p.m. on designated teacher workdays - ACES All Days. An $8.00 activity fee is charged on an ACES All Day.

A $15.00 non-refundable enrollment fee is due when the initial ACES enrollment application for the school year is submitted for each student. The enrollment fee is not required for students who have a DSS or other agency childcare voucher.  A non-refundable deposit of $50.00 (one week's fee) is required for each child for each enrollment. The deposit will be applied to the child’s last week of ACES. The deposit is not required for students who have a DSS or other agency childcare voucher.  The weekly fee is $50.00 a week and is due on Friday by 6:00 p.m. Additionally, if your weekly fee is paid late (on Monday), a $5.00 late fee will be added to your weekly fee. Note: An ACES week consists of 3 days or more that the program is open. A week in which ACES is only open two day is $25.00 per child.

The ACES Program will continue to accept subsidy payments from agencies such as the Department of Social Services (DSS), Guilford Child Development (GCD) and adoption services.

ACES activities include: Our ACES Curriculum - Growing Community Leaders:  An ACES Curriculum That Serves,  ACES Across the Nation, KidzLit® Literacy Program, Nature and Science Activities, Learning for Life and other Character Development activities, Academic Time, Book-It Reading Incentive Program, CATCH® Kids, Skillastics®, VersaTiles®, Computer Lab, Centers, Field Trips and Special Events. A nutritional snack is also served daily. (Breakfast, Lunch and Snack are served on ACES All Days)

This will be our second year of the ACES Across the Nation Curriculum! Our ACES program will “travel” to ten new states this year to explore some of the well known (and not-so-well-known) attributes of some of our great states.  Here is the travel itinerary: we will focus on ten states per school year (one state per month) with different STEAM activities for each month/state. We hope that all ACES students will enjoy these activities and give input on the states that they have visited!

Our ACES Program also focuses on Service Learning.  We are currently partnered with Animal Rescue and Foster Program for ongoing Service Learning Projects.  Further information regarding these projects will come out in our ACES monthly newsletters.
