Greetings Ferndale Family and Welcome to the Trojan Nation!
I am the PROUD Principal of Ferndale Middle School, and I am beyond elated and honored to serve our school community for many school years to come! The last school year and a half has presented many challenges, given the impact of COVID-19 on our country, state and education system. I believe, now more than ever, the opportunity for our Trojan spirit to arise as a community is NOW.
I believe that every child is deserving of a high-quality education, irrespective of the zip code in which they were born or the demographic label assigned to them. Our students at Ferndale Middle School are diverse, brilliant, and filled with potential! I do not take my role in leading our school community lightly. I believe that teachers are the greatest influencers of academic success in a child’s life. As a school community, we will work every day with our families and community to cultivate students that are INNOVATIVE LEADERS. At Ferndale Middle School, we create an empowering culture that fosters critical thinking, problem solving, and achievement.
I bring thirteen years of educational experience, with a focus on grades 6-12 as a high school Special Education classroom teacher, Curriculum Coordinator, Instructional Coach, New Leaders Resident Principal, Assistant Principal, School Principal, District Liaison and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Specialist. I currently hold Bachelors of Administration in Organizational Management, Masters of Science in Special Education and Masters of Science in Educational Leadership from the City University of New York.
The staff at FMS is so committed and dedicated to the work of educating our students! I believe that we are better together and that we must engage our whole community in the future success of our students. I'm looking forward to working together with all of our community members to accomplish this.
I would love to hear from you! My email address is email@example.com.
For our students,
Mrs. LaToya C. Crawford
