I am very excited to teach your child this semester! I hope to be a role model and to have a positive student-teacher relationship with your son or daughter. This is my first-year teaching Marketing at High Point Central High School. I received my bachelor’s degree in Communications & Marketing from NC Agricultural & Technical State University. I earned my Master of Science degree in Adult Education with a concentration in Training & Development from NC A&T State University as well. I have completed some MBA coursework at Florida Metropolitan University. I hold an Honorary Doctoral Degree in Christian Education from Metropolitan Christian University in Louisville, Kentucky.
My goals for this class include providing engaging, creative activities that students can relate to real life. I want to do my part in laying the foundation for a successful future for your child. Positive thinking, Self-control, Communication skills, Goal setting, and building self-esteem are additional skills that I hope to instill and reinforce in your child. I know that your child may not remember all the specific vocabulary ten years from now, but I hope they will take the marketing principles and life skills with them to aid their success in the future.
Some of you may ask: “Why take marketing classes?” No matter what future aspirations your child has, I believe one must be able to market themselves whether it be to a college or military recruiter, an internship, an apprenticeship, scholarship opportunity or career job.
- Marketing is everywhere!
- If your child seeks to enter the workforce after graduation, he or she will gain essential life and work skills and will also become a more intelligent, analytical consumer.
- If your child seeks a bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or marketing, business classes will provide an excellent foundation or may create an interest in a future college elective or minor.
- During your child’s senior year, your child can receive their Career Readiness Certification. This looks great on resumes for the college and/or career of their choice.
Please discuss with your child his or her goals for this semester. Help encourage your child to become involved and engaged in class and gain as much as possible. I set students up for success, and if his or her grades are poor, please feel free to contact me and we can come up with a solution together. I will give my best effort in creating rigor, relevance, and relationships with your child. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. If I cannot help you, I will do my best to find someone who can. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org, and this is the best way to reach me. Thank you for allowing me to work with your child and for supporting me this semester!
