The Nannie McAdoo Dick Media Center
In 2006, the new media center at James B. Dudley High School was named after esteemed alumna, Greensboro native, and library media pioneer Mrs. Nannie McAdoo Dick (1919-2017). Mrs Dick graduated from Dudley High School as a proud member of the class of 1936 and went on to study at Bennett College, NC A&T, and received her Masters of Library Science from NC Central State University. She began her career with the Greensboro Public Library in 1957 as a Bookmobile librarian and went on to become the first African-American on the professional staff and GPL's first Young Adult Librarian.
