Hello Ferndale Families,
It is my honor to serve as your 6th Grade Assistant Principal for the 2020-2021 school year. It is my duty and goal to help make my students transition to Ferndale Middle School a great one. My goal is to build solid relationships with students, staff and parents. It is also my goal to create a safe and nurturing environment that allows all students the opportunity to learn.
I started my educational career here in Guilford County in 2013 as a 7th Grade Mathematics teacher at Southwest Guilford Middle School. I served in this role for 2 years until, I transitioned to Wake County to continue teaching. During my time in Raleigh, I taught 7th Grade, 8th Grade and High School Math 1. With the success of teaching, I was offered the role of Math Coach. In this position I was granted the opportunity to not only continue to teach but to coach and mentor teachers.
In 2013, I received my Undergraduate degree in Middle Grades Education, concentrating in Mathematics and Social Studies from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. In 2018, I graduated with my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Queens University at Charlotte. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. In my free time I love to travel, watch 90's sitcoms and listen to 90's R&B and Hip Hop. I love horror movies and great food.
When I am not at school or completing school work, I enjoy spending time with family, traveling and cooking. I look forward to an AMAZING year with you and your students.
Mr. Ronnie Marshall, M.A.
