• This English class is designed to help students improve their skills in writing and reading. This is writing comprehensive class which will also continue to expose students to a variety of texts from ancient to modern and contemporary literature from around world. There will be a state-mandated End of Course Exam at the end of this course.

    Honors English III is designed for highly motivated students who desire an engaging class that will prepare them for higher education.  The main objectives of this course are to develop students’ critical thinking and writing skills, prepare students to meet the rigor of college entrance exams, and help students explore the ways in which American authors have imagined the central themes of freedom, democracy, and equality through literature.

    We will study different genres of literature starting from Puritan and Colonial times and reading up until the contemporary moment. Our literary investigations will require students to approach the texts with a sense of maturity and a commitment to understanding multiple historical contexts.
