Welcome to Ms. Mason Kelly’s homepage!

My teaching career started in 2004, teaching middle school mathematics at Northwest Middle for a year, followed by 5 wonderful years at Kernodle Middle School.  I taught 8th-grade math and Algebra I prior to leaving in 2010 to join the Nighthawk nation under the supervision of Principal William Laine.  During my first three years as a Northern Nighthawk, I served as the head of the mathematics department and a lead teacher for both Algebra I and II. In 2013, I joined the American Hebrew Academy as an Algebra I and II teacher for international students.  I returned to Northern Guildford High School in 2019 and currently serve as the mathematics department head, Math 1 and district lead teacher. 

I am originally from Midland, NC.  I attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro for both my Bachelor’s Degree in Middle Grades Education with a concentration in Math and Science, as well as my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.  I received my National Board Certification in Early Adolescents in 2011.

I currently reside in Greensboro with my favorite family member, Jack, the laziest GSP (German Shorthaired Pointer) known to man, and my new rescue, Willow, who has certainly taught me a lot about leadership and patience.  When I'm not exercising both dogs, I am either at College Hill CrossFit, reading books, traveling to local NC beaches or visiting my family.
