Welcome Back Students and Parents!

Welcome to an exciting new school year at Otis L. Hairston MiddleSchool.  It is my pleasure to be your 6th grade Math Teacher for the 2nd year. 

I was formally at Ferndale Middle School and served as a 6th-grade math teacher. Prior to coming to the field of education, and still continuing, I spent 5 years as an instructional assistant for Durham Public Schools. I spent additional years serving as an America Reads coordinator, tutor, and before/after school group leader.  

I am a graduate of North Carolina Central University in which I received my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in English Writing. I recently graduated from High Point University, in which I received my Master of Art Teaching in K-6 Education with a concentration in STEM

The best part of teaching is building life-long relationships with my students and parents.  I'm so excited to have you all apart of our Jaguar family.
