Welcome to Pre-Kindergarten at Wiley Elementary!

Hello and welcome, my name is Mrs. Masterson and I'm am so happy to be your child's teacher this year along with Mrs. Cruz as the Teacher Assistant!

Even though things would look different this year due to COVID-19, how exciting it must be to know your child will begin their academic journey as a Wiley Eagle! The NC Pre-Kindergarten program is designed for 4-5-year olds. It utilizes the Creative Curriculum in addition to the Fundations supplemental program that focuses on literacy skills (identify letters, learning letter sounds, and writing letters). NC Pre-K uses Teaching Strategies to assess and evaluate.

Parents, this is the year for your child to shine and show fantastic growth. We look forward to having a great year! For this to happen,  we set expectations for our classroom. Every day your child will participate in group activities and hands-on activities that allow children to explore and experiment.

While we work daily in our classroom on our activities, we also believe communication is the key to our Pre-K classroom. We will regularly send home calendars, newsletters, and updates. It is dramatically encouraged to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
