Ruthmarie Mitchell Program Administrator
Hello Twilight High School Community!
My name is Ruthmarie Mitchell and I am excited to have the opportunity to work with an amazing group of teachers, support staff, students, and their families at Twilight - Jackson during the 2019-2020 school year. This is my 21st year with Guilford County.
I spent 14 years at Northeast Guilford High School. While there I was a Spanish teacher, school counselor, graduation coach, and assistant principal, I also served two years as an assistant principal at Smith High School. During the day I serve as the assistant principal at David D. Jones Elementary School. I am honored to serve as a program administrator for Twilight.
I am originally from New York, spent many years in Arizona, and have lived in Greensboro for 25 years, I have two amazing children two awesome stepsons, and 6 beautiful granddaughters ages 1, 2, 9, 12, 14, and 15.
One of the key components to my educational philosophy is that I believe that ALL children have the capacity to learn and grow every single year, regardless of their circumstances. The key is to develop, nurture, build relationships and create trust with each individual student and their caregivers. After that, the sky is the limit!
