  • Good afternoon, Hairston Family! I hope you're having an outstanding day on this gorgeous Sunday. I want to thank you all for an amazing turnout at Open House! I hope you're as energized as I am about starting this school year. 
     
    Tomorow is our first day back and there are several reminders and expectations that I want to share with you:
     
    First, our school doors open at 8 AM and our afternoon dismissal time is 3:20. In order to prevent confusion during dismissal, our expectation is that all early dismissals must occur before 2:45. If you must pick up your child early, please do so before 2:45. 
     
    Secondly, we are enforcing a no cell phone policy for students. That means, we do not allow students to use their cell phones during school hours. Students are expected to keep their cell phones, ear buds, and airpods, on silent or turned off and should not be seen at all. Students cannot have them in the hallway as they go from class to class, in the restroom, or any place unless we grant them permission. This expectation will keep our students focused on their only job at school, which is learning as much as they can from the time they get here until the time they leave. Please help us by supporting this expectation. 
     
    We look forward to seeing your child at school tomorrow. Please make sure they are well-rested and prepared to learn and follow expectations.

  • Good afternoon, Hairston students and families! I am Mr. Dixon, your new proud principal, and no stranger to this community. I want to invite you all to our Open House, which will take place Thursday, August 11 from 5:30-7pm. There will be music, hotdogs and chips, and an opportunity for you to meet your child's new teachers. We look forward to seeing you at Open House next Thursday!
     
    I also want to remind all 7th grade parents that state law requires updated immunizations before a 7th grader can attend school. Please make sure your child is immunized prior to the start of school on August 15th. 
     
    Monday, August 15th, is our official first day of school. Our doors will not open for students until 8 AM and our departure time is 3:20. Please make sure your child is prepared for the start of the 2022-23 school year.
