Good evening and welcome back from Spring Break! This is Principal Brown with announcements for the week. Our grading period for 3rd quarter ends this Thursday, March 17 and there is a teacher workday this Friday, March 18- no high school classes will be in session. As a reminder, seniors and parents of seniors please join us this Thursday evening at 6pm for a very important virtual senior class meeting. End of year and graduation information will be shared. Plan now to attend.

Students and parents, please be reminded of the UNCG revised COVID protocols that took effect March 7. Although face coverings will no longer be required in most spaces on campus, the university encourages all members of the UNCG community to continue wearing them indoors, especially in instructional settings, Per the guidance from UNCG, if students are unvaccinated, please continue to wear masks to protect yourself and others.
UNCG will no longer require mandatory testing for students and employees who have not provided proof of vaccination.

We are excited that The Middle College at UNCG is partnering with American Red Cross by holding a blood drive for our students and staff on Wednesday, March 23rd from the hours of 9am-1:30pm in our Gym. More details about registration, tips for participants and consent forms for interested minors will be shared leading up to the blood drive by our principal liaison and student council student leaders.

Your support of the Middle College at UNCG is greatly appreciated. We look forward to seeing everyone back tomorrow. Have a great evening.

  • Principal's Message about Masking: February 22, 2022

Good morning MCUNCG parents and students!

As you know, the board of education voted to lift the district-wide mask mandate, effective immediately. At this time, the students and staff at MCUNCG must continue to follow UNCG guidelines, one of which is mandatory masking. We will update you should our host university guidelines change.

As a reminder to our bus riders, students and bus drivers will still be required to wear a mask while on the school bus as required by federal regulation. We appreciate your continued efforts to keep our community safe.

Thank you and have a good day.

    Principal Brown

Good evening Middle College students and parents,

As you know GCS has announced tomorrow, January 19 as a remote learning day for students. High school classes will operate on a normal schedule. Our students are expected to use their devices to log in to Canvas to access a link for TEAMS where attendance will be taken, and LIVE instruction will begin at the following times:

    7:45- 1st block
    9:30- 2nd block
    11:40- 3rd block
    1:15 – 4th block

During each class period, there will be some asynchronous time built-in for mental and bathroom breaks, snacks, and meals. The lunch break is from 11:00-11:40.

UNCG is returning to normal operations and will resume with classes tomorrow. Students enrolled in college classes should attend college classes that are online, attend college classes that are face to face if you can do so safely, and if there is any reason you cannot attend online or face to face classes, please communicate directly with your UNCG professor as soon as possible. If on campus, we are requesting that students report to college classes only as the Middle College building is not required to open on the GCS remote learning day and there will not be adequate GCS staffing onsite for student supervision.

Freshmen and Juniors should look for updates on REMIND from Mrs. Johnson about Pathways and PE tomorrow.

We will use REMIND and CANVAS for student updates throughout the day and encourage students and parents to communicate with us through those platforms should you have any questions or need help accessing LIVE instruction tomorrow.

Please be sure your child’s Chromebook is charged and ready for class in the morning. We look forward to seeing our students' faces on camera!

Thanks for your support. Stay safe, warm, and have a good evening.

Good afternoon, this is Principal Brown with this week's announcements.

College class begins Monday, Jan 10. Report cards and certificates will come with students. We are proud of our students' accomplishments. If you didn't get a chance to view the awards program this past Friday, you may watch at your leisure on our Facebook page or YouTube page.

Yearbooks are still on sale but for $40 now. Please pay $40 to Ms. Morton by noon each Thursday.

As a reminder, our school is NOT one of those affected by the bus driver shortages. Middle College at UNCG students will now continue to receive school bus transportation. We look forward to seeing your child at school on Monday morning.

Thank you for your continued support.
