  • Principal's Message Week of August 29, 2022

Good evening Middle College at UNCG students, parents, and staff. This is Ms. Brown with announcements for the week. Parents, you will receive an e-ballot to vote for a parent for the school leadership team this week. We appreciate your support in advance.

Student safety is very important to us at The Middle College at UNCG as we work collaboratively with all departments on campus. We are asking that our students please make sure that they are not crossing the street on the campus in the middle of the street and using the designated crosswalk. Particularly on Walker Avenue, there are two crosswalks that we ask that our students use: Kenilworth and Sterling.

At dismissal, students make sure that you are using those designated crosswalks. Also, when students are not in a college class he or she should be in our building unless otherwise permitted to attend services on campus for additional support.

It is very important our that students be where they supposed to be at all times and thank you in advance parents for your partnership in this effort.

We are excited about Wednesday! We are hosting a Club Fair Kick-Off during Fourth Block. Students get connected and stay involved. Student Council is hosting the Club Fair and we ask that all our students make sure to visit all the tables and see how you will get connected this year.

Seniors, mark your calendar for two important dates. September 29th is Senior Picture Day. You will receive a link for more information to register for your date and time.

Also, hot off the press mark your calendar for graduation day May 24, 2023 at 1 PM. All students this is a reminder that attendance matters. We can't wait to see your faces this week. Have a great remainder of your evening.

  • Principal's Message Week of August 3, 2022

Good afternoon and welcome back to the 2022-2023 school year at the Middle College at UNCG! As we prepare for the first day of school Thursday, August 4,  I wanted to remind you that tomorrow is our Open House and we are excited to see you between 4pm-6pm. Parking is available across the street from our building at 1510 Walker Ave. Come by to pick up your schedule and Open House folder which has important information for each student. Representatives from transportation, food and nutrition and our PTA will be at Open House to answer  questions. We hope you will join PTA and get your MCUNCG spirit wear which will be on sale tomorrow. Our staff is excited to meet you during this floating format. Use your child's schedule to meet individual teachers any time between 4-6. Schedule changes will not occur during Open House. There will be a time during the first two days of school to address those concerns. We will use the first two days of schools to get reacclimated with orientation type activities. All students are expected to attend. An orientation schedule will be provided during Open House. All students, no matter your grade level, attendance matters so plan to be at school regardless if you have majority college classes. MCUNG students are considered dual enrolled which means you are still high school students with an expectation to attend school face to face. Please plan accordingly and let your employers know that school is back in session! Parents no matter how old your child is, we invite you to still come out to Open House and connect with us. After our 2 day period of orientation activities, we will operate on our regular schedule effective Monday, August 8. We cant wait to see you tomorrow! It's going to be a great year! We are GOING FOR THE GOLD!
