Student example login will be:
- Username – email@example.com
- Password – GCS Computer Login/Email password.
NCEdCloud/Canvas login problems solved:
If you have more than one student using Canvas/NCEdCloud, sometimes their accounts don't properly logout and you may see that the other user's course or information loads, instead: here are some suggestions:
When more than one person shares the same computer for Canvas, you need to clear the cache and cookies (sometimes you have to clear it multiple times). Here is a link to clearing the cache if you are using Google Chrome (which is recommended) https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/32050?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More .
- Click More tools Clear browsing data.
- At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
- Next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.
- Click Clear data.
It might help to have one person(user) use access NCEdCloud/Canvas in Chrome and the other person use it in Edge.
Other technology issues:
If you attempt to log in to NCEdCloud/Canvas and when you type in the password you get this error message, "Authentication failed" this means that either the Student ID number is being entered incorrectly (ask your homeroom teacher & verify that you are typing in the correct number) OR the password is incorrect or needs to be reset (email your homeroom teacher to get this done - go to Staff Links - Staff Directory for email addresses)
If you are have borrowed a school laptop and are trying to log in to the device and get this message: "Domain not available", this means that you will need to take the device back to ANY GCS school (there is a hotspot at Eastern Guilford High School parking lot), connect to the GCS wifi and login AT LEAST TWICE. This is cause updates to run and will allow you access at home on your own wifi.
