  • Guilford County Schools encourages students to discover the joy of reading through periodic reading challenges. 

    Summer Reading Challenge

    Summer Break is here and GCS wants you to keep reading! Use this log to record the minutes you read over the break to earn a free ticket to a Kersey Valley attraction!

    Students must read at least 900 minutes to qualify for the prize! Complete this form by Friday, September 2 in order to have a chance to win.

    Winter Reading Challenge

    GCS Winter Break Reading Challenge

    Get caught reading over winter break!

    Read at least 300 minutes over winter break and you will win tickets to two UNCG basketball games!

     

    The details:  The 300 minutes must be read and recorded between December 17 and January 3. A completed winter break reading log must be turned in to the school library media coordinator by Friday, January 6.  The form must include the student's first and last name, teacher's name, the total minutes read, and a parent/guardian's signature.  

    Flyers in English and Spanish are also posted below, but students will bring home reading logs the week of December 12th
