  • It’s always a great day to be a Viking! Thank you for visiting my page. Please feel free to reach out to me via email at or by phone at 336-605-3300 if you need anything at all. I am the SENIOR administrator but I gladly serve our entire student body and community. I am excited to see what the 2020-21 school year has in store for all of us!

I have been in education for 26 years, and all 26 years I have served in Guilford County Schools. I started my career right after graduating from UNC-Greensboro in 1993. My first job was a Theatre and English position at Southwest High School. After 12 years, I transferred to Northwest High School to teach 9th grade and AP 11th grade English. In 2008, I became the Curriculum Facilitator at Southeast High School under Mr. Kitley’s mentorship. Two years later, I followed him back to this side of town and served as Assistant Principal at Northwest Middle School after receiving my M.S. Certification in School Administration at NC A&T State University. Finally, in 2010, I came back to Northwest High School as Assistant Principal, and this has been my home ever since. Most recently, I served as Interim Principal here at NW following Mr. Kitley’s immediate retirement held the position throughout our COVID-19 school closure. I currently work with the most amazing team of assistant principals, Dr. Farrow, Ms. Gilyard, and Mr. Watkins.

I grew up in a small NC mountain community, Burnsville. We are right at the base of Mt. Mitchell and boast some of the most amazing hiking trails and swimming holes around. I love to visit my Momma’s house where I can totally unplug because it’s so far in the woods that we have no cell or internet service. I just walk among my momma’s flowers or swing on her front porch while reading books I don’t have time to read normally. I have 2 wonderful children, Avery, a rising senior at NW and Spencer, a rising 10th grader.

I look forward to all the exciting things that the 2020-21 school year brings!
