Hello, beautiful people. I'm Keala Rodgers, and I teach AP Language & Composition and Honors English III. This is my third year at Western and my 15th year teaching overall.  Before teaching at Western, I taught at the Academy at Smith and Northeast Guilford High School.  I love teaching English because the skills are so relevant to everyday life, no matter what field of study or career you have. Just think about it...every day you have to communicate with someone in some form or another, and every day you have to think critically. 

In addition to being a teacher, I am a mom of two, a singer, and a spoken word artist. I love books (of course), shoes, and graphic t-shirts. I believe in the power of words. 

My goal is for each of you to find and refine your voice, and learn how to use your words as weapons for change. I want you to know that your words have power, and you can use them to be an effective communicator and to make a difference. I look forward to working with you this school year.
