Mrs. Wooten
Hello! My name is Jazzmyne Wooten and I’m excited to be your first-grade teacher! This is my second-year teaching at Bessemer Elementary School, and I am grateful to be a Bobcat. Here’s a little about myself: My husband and I have two beautiful daughters named Penelope and Nova. I love the colors gray and yellow. My birthday is April 19. My favorite animal is a giraffe. I am a southern belle, but I prefer Lemonade over Sweet tea!
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I have only taught first grade and enjoy getting to know each and every student I encounter. My favorite part of teaching first grade is getting to watch the students grow and find understanding in the unknown.
As our school continues to focus on academic excellence, we want to ensure that this is happening for each and every student, including yours. I believe teaching is a wonderful opportunity to share knowledge and will make every effort to ensure the academic success of my students.
I know that teaching must begin with making children feel at home in the classroom and helping all the children come together into a learning community. This community is made up of unique individuals each with his or her own learning style, interests, history, hopes and dreams.
I feel as though open lines of communication between the parent, student, and teacher is the key to promoting an educational climate that is conducive to learning. Together we can make a difference! Please feel free to contact me at anytime if there is a question or situation you would like to discuss; I am usually still at the school until 4pm.
