Students and Parents, I cannot wait to meet you!
The 2020-2021 school year marks my first year here at Northern and second year as a classroom teacher. Due to the pandemic, I am sorry that we will not get to meet each other in person as the school year gets started, but I am hopeful we will get back into the classroom soon to meet face-to-face. For now, I look forward to meeting students during the first two days of school during our live orientation sessions!
Below is a little more information about me:
I currently teach Biology and Human Genetics here at NGHS, but I also have experience teaching Chemistry, Physical Science, and Marine Science. I am originally from Essex Fells, NJ, and moved to SC in 2011 to attend Coastal Carolina University where I earned my B.S. in Marine Science and a second B.S. in Biology. I then went on to earn my M.A. in Teaching Secondary Science at the same university. Right after graduation, I spent my first year teaching at Green Sea Floyds High School in Green Sea, SC. This past summer brought us to Reidsville, NC, and I was given an opportunity to join the Nighthawk Nation! Currently, I hold NC and SC valid state teaching licenses.
Outside of school, of my passion for science and education, I love spending time at the lake, playing board games, and hanging out with my two dogs, Jett and Sam. I am currently engaged, and will be Mrs. Pruett hopefully by next school year (which I know is a whole lot simpler than Ms. Sosnoski)!
If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to reach out. It is easiest to contact me by email, which you can find on the contact page of my website.
