I hope that everyone had a relaxing weekend.

Monday, September 7, school will be closed in observance of the Labor Day Holiday.
The teachers and I are so excited to start live instruction on Tuesday. They’ve planned fun, interactive and engaging lessons for students. Please make sure that students have eaten breakfast and are in a quite space ready to start their lessons. This will help cut down on distractions. We’re also trying to teach students to work independently. Please encourage your student’s independence by allowing them to “show what they know” by answering questions and participating in the activities without too much help. This will allow our teachers to assess their current understanding and help move their learning forward.

If you have not already done so, please go into SchoolMint and update your child’s personal information by Tuesday, September 8.
We will continue to offer free breakfast and lunch to students through December. Meals will be available from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday through Friday. The application for free & reduced meals can be found on the GCS website under the Reopening Schools tab. This application can be completed by any parent/guardian of a student in a Guilford County School at any point during the school year. All families are encouraged to complete this application as approval may qualify a family for additional benefits during the global pandemic. Even if you do not qualify or think you will not qualify…please complete.
If you did not pick up student materials last week, please contact the office and we will schedule a time for you to stop by and get them.
Please continue to monitor your child’s canvas page, our website, and social media for important school updates.

We appreciate all you do to serve as partners with us during Remote Learning. Have Great Cowboy Evening!

I hope that everyone had a relaxing weekend.

On Tuesday, September 1 and Wednesday, September 2 we’re having a drive-through pick up of student materials needed for the 1st nine weeks. Materials maybe picked up at the following times 11-12:30 and 4-5:30 on both days. If these times don’t work for you, please reach out to your child’s teacher to make other arrangements.

This is just a reminder to go into SchoolMint and update your child’s personal information by Tuesday, September 8. It’s imperative that you update your child’s information, to ensure we have correct information on file in cause of an emergency.
Starting Sept. 1, the process to pick-up student meals will look different. Meals will now be available on a “grab and go” basis from 11 a.m. to noon, Monday-Friday, at all GCS schools. You do not have to go to the school(s) your child attends to pick-up meals, which include lunch and breakfast for the following day.

If your child qualified last year for free- or reduced-price meals, you don’t have to pay. All others will have to pay for their meals. To prevent any interruption in service, however, please apply now for meal benefits for the 2020-21 school year by filling out the application at www.lunchapplication.com.

If you child is in need of a device, please contact the office and we will schedule a time for you to stop by and get one.
Please continue to monitor your child’s canvas page, our website, and social media for important school updates.
Monday, September 7 school will be closed in observance of the Labor Day Holiday.
Thanks for your continued support and have a great Cowboy Evening!
