Logging in to Teams
Setting up Instances of Chrome to Make Logging in Easier
Frequently Asked Questions
The app does sometimes seem to spontaneously disappear.
If you are using a GCS-provided iPad, tap on Self Service at the iPad home page and download the Teams app again.
If you are using a Chromebook, go to the Play Store and download the Teams app or search for "Download Teams App" in Google Chrome.
If you are getting a message that the meeting does not allow guests, dismiss the message and then sign in with your student's GCS/Microsoft credentials:
Password: MMDDYYYY (birthdate)
If you are getting a message that the password is incorrect, contact the teacher or media specialist and ask them to go to helpdesk.gcsnc.com to fill out a password reset request. They will need the student name, birthdate and ID number.
If you are getting a message that the account is not found, contact the media specialist and ask her to have Technology Services check the student account. She will need the student ID number.
You have to access Canvas through NCEdCloud/Rapid Identity.
If you are unable to log in to NCEdCloud/Rapid Identity, please try the troubleshooting tips under the FAQ for NCEdCloud.
If you are able to get into NCEdCloud/Rapid Identity and then don't have the Canvas icon, please ask your teacher to get in touch with our Blended Learning Specialists.
If you are able to get into NCEdCloud/Rapid Identity and you have the Canvas icon, but nothing happens when you click it, try turning your device off and on and see if any updates are available for your Canvas app. If neither of those works, ask your teacher to reach out to our Blended Learning Specialists.
First, try clearing the cache. In Chrome, click on the three dots in the top right corner. Then scroll down to More Tools and click on Clear Browsing Data.
Log out of the device, turn it off and turn it back on again.
Go to onedrive.gcsnc.com and try to log in to force a Zscaler login.
If that doesn't work, ask your teacher for a password reset.
Try again in a few minutes.
Then, if you still can't get logged in to NCEdCloud, contact our Library Media Specialist for help.
**Rarely, NCEdCloud is down. The district has been pretty reliable about sending out ConnectEd messages when that happens.
**If you have more than one student using the same computer, check out the video on setting up instances of Chrome. That will reduce the necessity of clearing the cache.
