    Dear University Prep Parent/Guardian,

    During the final ten days of the school year as part of North Carolina Testing law (G.S. § 115C-174), your 6th -8th grade child is required to take the End-of-Grade (EOG) Tests, and for students enrolled in NC Math 1, the End-of-Course (EOC) Test.

    Students have been assigned to specific testing dates and sites based on their zoned school and grade level. Students are also divided into 3 Groups: Group A, which are students with accommodations; Group B, which are bus riders; and Group C, which are car riders.

    Students who have accommodations (Group A) will receive individual information regarding when they will test.


    Students will test according to their grade level at each testing site.  Please see the testing schedule below. This testing schedule is the same for all three testing sites.

    Testing Guidelines:

    • Breakfast and lunch will be provided at all sites for each testing day. Students may also bring their own breakfast and lunch. Students will eat in their respective testing classrooms and follow all GCS Covid-19 protocols.
    • Students may also bring a water bottle, but they are not allowed to drink during testing.
    • Students will not be allowed to leave the campus for lunch or breaks.
    • Students will be given breaks during testing and throughout the day.
    • The testing day will be from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p. All students must arrive by 8:20 a.m. Testing will start promptly at 8:45 a.m.
    • Please remember to bring your fully-charged GCS Chromebook & charger.
    • All other electronic devices are prohibited. Cellphones must be completely turned off and stored in a bookbag or purse. Teachers will not collect cell phones due to safety protocols.
    • Students must adhere to the Guilford County Schools dress code.
    • Some students may finish testing early. Students are allowed a book or other reading material if they finish testing early.
    • Students are not allowed to leave until the testing session has ended for the day.

    Students who have a significant medical reason for not testing may apply for a Medical Exception with supporting medical documentation through the University Prep Testing Coordinators and may be officially excused from testing.
