Bio: 

I was born and raised in Greensboro, NC and am a product of Guilford County Schools. I graduated from Western Guilford High School then pursued a B.S. in Secondary History Education at North Carolina A&T State University (Aggie Pride). Prior to graduation, I had the great pleasure of student teaching right here at Northwest High School with an amazing teacher in the Social Studies department! After graduation, I secured my first teaching position at Allen Middle School, teaching 7^th grade Social Studies. I then taught at Hairston Middle School (7^th SS), Western Guilford High School (Civics & Economics and World History), Southwest Middle School (8^th SS), and completed a principal internship at Foust Elementary School. In addition to teaching, parenting, and coaching Cheer, I earned two master’s degrees: M.S. in Adult Education (NC A&T) and M.Ed. in Educational Leadership (High Point University - Leadership Academy, Cohort IV). I have served as Chair and Co-Chair of various PBIS committees and Leadership Teams. I founded and facilitated a teacher support group to provide SEL and instructional support in response to the challenges of remote/hybrid instruction. I am constantly thinking about the impact decisions will have on various stakeholders and am committed to ensuring equity, access, opportunity, and inclusion for all!

My husband and I have three children and two fur friends. I am a proud CODA (Child of a Deaf Adult), fluent in American Sign-Language, and an advocate for the protections of individuals with impairments and disabilities. I am an extrovert and enjoy being around people so I will always greet you with a smile and a fun story. I look forward to getting to work with each of you and having an awesome school year!
