• My name is Marissa McOmber and I'm so excited to be teaching at Northwest!

I attended Georgia Southern University in undergrad where I double majored in Political Science and International Studies and minored in Spanish. I earned a Master's in Education from Johns Hopkins University.

I'm licensed to teach English Language Arts 6-12 and Social Studies 9-12 and have taught 7th, 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades. This is my 10th year in the classroom and I'm excited to spend it with you! :)

I'll be teaching Honors English I (9th) and Honors American Literature (11th) this year.

I am also the Student Council advisor this year. Meetings are during WIN.

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy baking, traveling, trying new foods, taking care of my houseplants, and spending time with my cats (Karma, French Fry, and Minnow).

Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. Check Canvas for course-specific information, updates, assignments, and due dates. I use Canvas regularly. This is the best place to find information about what we are doing in class, particularly if you are absent.
