Arrival and Dismissal Directions for ORE Car Riders
Welcome to Oak Ridge Elementary! Entrance to our campus can be a bit confusing during arrival and dismissal times, so we want to make sure that all of our families know the proper procedures. These procedures have been established in conjunction with the Guilford County Sheriff's Department.
Although the entrance to our car rider line is located on Autumn Gate Drive, all parents are asked not to turn onto Autumn Gate but instead proceed to Tarleton Drive, which is the entrance to the neighborhood. Continue on Tarleton Drive, then turn right onto Rosedale, and then left onto Autumn Gate before entering our school property. K-2 students as well as their older siblings should get in the far left lane once on school property. Students in grades 3-5 should get in the middle lane. The far right lane is a fire lane and should only be used by Pre-K parents to pass the car rider line since they must park. No other parents should park to walk up to get their children.
The K-2 line will continue around the front of our school. The 3-5 line will turn behind the building at the gravel drive located just before the playground surrounded with black fencing. Pre-K parents should follow the directions given by our Pre-K staff regarding exactly where to drop off and pick up. For more detailed directions about these procedures, please click here.
To pick up or drop off your child after morning arrival or before afternoon dismissal, you may enter the school property using the bus lane on Linville Drive. However, if buses are parked there then no cars are allowed to enter due to safety procedures. Do not ever cut through this bus lane while buses are on the property! This is a ticketable offense.
Please see the images below for detailed directions. As always, please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you for helping us keep your children safe at Oak Ridge!
