Welcome to Mendenhall Middle School and Mrs. Goley's Social Studies class. This year we will be exploring Ancient History. We will be exploring civilizations like China Egypt, India, just to name a few. Sixth grade Social Studies will be lots of fun...pyramids, mummies, curses, buried cities, battles, gods and goddesses, kings and queens, early cavemen and Buddha. A simple composition book is all they will need.

Let me introduce myself. I am Helen Goley. I have taught middle school and high school in Guilford County for twenty years. My bachelor's degree and master's degree came from the University of South Carolina. I have my National Boards and am a certified Reading Specialist. We will work on reading through various Social Studies texts.
