Salaries are determined by the State of North Carolina and local Board of Education policy based on license and degree. The following information is an overview for the 2022-2023 academic year. Guilford County also provides supplement increases dependent on a number of factors including funding.
Guilford County Schools offers a variety of benefits reflecting the diverse needs of our employees. These benefits include: medical, dental, and vision insurance; cancer protection; short-term and long-term disability; accidental and critical illness; hospital indemnity insurance; life insurance; and retirement funding.
GCS offers opportunities for bonuses, such as $10,000 and $20,000 awards for newly hired teachers. Substitute teachers and other employees may also qualify for bonuses. Learn more about the different ways the district tries to supplement pay and reward for in-demand positions, commitments, etc.
