Hi! I am Mrs. Burkett! (:

I am a kindergarten teacher here at Sumner Elementary! I graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies from UNCG in 2021 and then with my Master's in Elementary Education from High Point University in 2023. I am looking forward to getting to know your child and establishing a partnership with you to help them reach their full potential. In my classroom, I strive for students to feel welcome and able to express themselves. I aim to create a positive classroom community, we are a class family!

I am originally from Massachusetts, but have lived here since the 7th grade. I enjoy going back home to Massachusetts for the summer and holidays. Some of my hobbies include cooking, coloring, puzzles. I love the holidays and enjoy planning holiday parties for my family, especially at Christmas! I love the Grinch.
