Hello! 

Welcome! I'm Mr. Buckel and I am excited for the 2024-2025 school year! 

This is my second year teaching at Northwest Guilford High School and my fourth year working at Guilford County Schools. This year I'm teaching Accounting I, Accounting II, Financial Planning II, and Business Essentials. Business Essentials is a prerequisite course for students interested in Financial Planning I and II. 

A little bit about me: I graduated from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management and a minor in Mass Communication. 

During and after college I worked in several positions in economic development, transportation/logistics, and financial technology. Prior to working for Guilford County Schools, I spent five years working at a tech start-up focusing on client engagement, data integrations, and product operations within several software solutions that helped financial advisors meet a fiduciary standard of care.

It took me a few years to find my way into the classroom, but I quickly discovered education is my passion and I love working with students interested in the fast-paced, quickly evolving financial industry. There are so many potential careers in finance and the content we cover has applications both in the workplace and in your personal life.
