Hello! 

Welcome! I'm Mr. Buckel and I am excited to be teaching Accounting I, Accounting II, and Financial Planning this year. 

A little bit about me: I graduated from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (Go Steelers!) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management and a Minor in Mass Communication. 

During and after college I worked in several positions in economic development, transportation/logistics, and financial technology. Prior to working for Guilford County Schools, I spent five years working at a tech start-up focusing on client engagement, data integrations, and product operations within several software solutions that helped financial advisors meet a fiduciary standard of care. 

After the start-up was acquired and the pandemic shifted my work/life priorities, I decided to do something unique in my career and I became a School Bus Driver with GCS. I drove bus 1307 for two years and transported students for Oak Ridge Elem, Pearce Elem, Colfax Elem, Northwest Guilford Middle, and Northwest Guilford High. It was the hardest and most rewarding job I've ever had (so far!). 

When the opportunity to teach Accounting and Financial Planning courses (which were my favorite subjects in high school and college) at Northwest came up, I knew I had to take it. 

I look forward to our year ahead!
