STEM Battle of the Books
What is STEM Battle of the Books (STEM BOB)?
STEM Battle of the Books (STEM BOB) is for 4th and 5th grade students who love to read, build and complete challenges. Those students who participate in STEM BOB read books from a list established by the state Battle of the Books committee. We meet after school every Wednesday from 2:30-3:30pm (unless otherwise stated) starting in October and participate in a quiz-bowl-style tournament to test our knowledge of the books read. After we read our book for the month, students will then complete a STEM challenge for that specific book.
While there is no limit to the number of students who participate in the STEM BOB meetings, we are only able to place 12 students on the roster for the competition. The coach will make the final team decision of participation based on behavior, student participation, and knowledge of the books. If you are a student who is committed, loves to read, build and complete challenges, then, STEM BOB is for you.
