• Welcome to Northwest Middle School Media Center!

    Our Media Center is open every school day from 8:00 AM until 3:30 PM for student access during the school day. Students may come to the Media Center with a pass from their classroom teacher anytime during these hours. 

    We use a flexible schedule in the Media Center. Classes are scheduled to come for circulation and instruction through any of their classroom teachers. ELA teachers work closely with Mrs. Stringer to schedule time for students to receive instruction and access to materials needed for classroom research reading and also for self selection for independent reading.

    All student information is due in Beanstack by August 30. Minutes must be dated between June 8-August 25.


    Students can record minutes during summer break if they have access to a device or enter minutes when they return to school.

    Summer Break 2024 Reading Challenge

    Students must read at least 600 minutes between June 8 and August 25 to earn a ticket to a fall Kersey Valley attraction.

    Reading minutes must be logged in Beanstack to be eligible for a prize. Students who cannot record their minutes over Summer Break can enter them in Beanstack when they return to school. To count toward the challenge, minutes will need to be dated during Summer Break.

    NOTE: Students will lose access to Beanstack once Powerschool rosters are cleared to prepare for the new school year (usually August 1). The timeline for access to be restored will vary based on when individual school data managers get 2024-25 school year rosters entered into the system.
