• Winter Sports Try Outs

    Boy’s and Girl’s Basketball and Wrestling 

     November 18th, 19th and 20th immediately after school.

     

    WGMS Sports Participation Packets must be hand delivered by the student to Coach Sexton or Coach Phillips ONLY by Thursday, November 14th at 3:30 PM. *** There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this deadline*** 

    Packets will not be accepted after this deadline for Winter Sports. WGMS Sports Participation Packets can be found with Coach Sexton and Coach Phillips as well as in the front office and on the WGMS website under athletics. Students who have already tried out for a sport this year must see Coach Sexton or Coach Phillips by Thursday, November 14th at 3:30 PM to check the status of their sports packet including their physical and concussion form, as well as their eligibility. Eligibility for Winter Sports is based on Semester 2 of the 2023/2024 school year. In addition to the up to date completed WGMS Sports Participation Packet, to be eligible for Winter Sports, students must have passed 3 out of 4 core classes and not had more than 13 days absent. Students also must reside in the WGMS school zone or have a letter of reassignment on file. A student may not participate in any middle school sport if his or her 15th birthday comes on or before August 31st  of the current school year.
