We hope that all of you had a restful and safe holiday break. Monday, January 4th is a mandated workday for teachers with no remote learning for students.

Last Thursday, Guilford County Schools delayed the re-entry date for middle school students to January 21st. Therefore, students at Western Guilford Middle School will continue to follow the same remote learning schedule as the one used prior to the winter break until January 21st. Once again, students will continue to use the same remote learning schedule that was being used before winter break. At the same time, we ask parents to keep the re-entry letter that we sent home as the information and schedules from that letter will go into effect when students return for face to face instruction starting January 21st. If you did not receive a re-entry letter, you may check our school website to get a copy of the letter and call our school to find out which cohort your student has been assigned to.

Please make sure the school has your correct address on file. You can make a change of address by logging into SchoolMint or by calling our school. All school communication is sent to the address that the school has on file from you. Additionally, remind your students to do the question of the day each morning so that they are not marked absent at school for that day.

On a different note, our annual Career Day will be virtual this year and will be held on March 10th from 12 to 3:00 PM. If you would like to showcase your career with our students and would be interested in presenting for 45 minutes that day, please contact our school treasurer Ms. Miller by calling our school.

Mark your calendars! 2nd Quarter is closing on January 19th by 4:00 PM. If your student has any missing assignments, this is the time to complete them before that day to receive credit. On the other hand, report Card Pick up Night will be held on January 28th from 3:30 to 7:00 PM. We hope to see you then.

Join me tonight at 8:00 PM for our Tiger Nation updates on Facebook Live. I will be highlighting this week’s announcements through our school’s Facebook page. I look forward to seeing you tonight.

Finally, if you have any questions about this message, please do not hesitate to contact our school office. We hope that you all have a wonderful week.
