Hi and Welcome to Stokesdale Elementary,
My name is Kristin Boegner Jones and I have been an elementary school teacher since 2010. Teaching was not my first profession, but it is my passion! I was lucky enough to be able to follow my dream and I am honored to share in the educational lives of our students here at Stokesdale. When asked about my legacy, I want each student at Stokesdale to know how much they are loved - they are the reason we are here!
I began teaching in a 5th grade math class, then I moved to Sweden with my family. While living abroad, I taught at the English School of Gothenburg (Sweden) and upon my return to the US, began teaching Exceptional Children here at Stokesdale. I am committed to providing the best education for our students and stocking their toolboxes full of useful strategies and knowledge that they can carry with them into the future.
Please feel free to contact me anytime...but I am hard to find - the students know me as Mrs. Jones, but to reach me on email, you have to use boegnek@gcsnc.com! I look forward to hearing from you! Kristin Boegner Jones

Word Problem Graphic Organizer
Your student uses this organizer when answering a multi-step word problem. We use the strategy - Read, Draw, Write. This organizer allows your student a column to draw the problem, another column to write an equation to solve the first step and then a final spot to write the second equation to solve and answer the question.

Key Math Operation Words
Review these key words with your student when completing word problems. We use the CUBES strategy - circle the numbers, underline the question, box the Key Word, write the equation and solve!
