Welcome to Third!
Dear Third Grade Parents,
My name is LaToya Johnson, and I will be your child’s third grade teacher. I have been at Stokesdale Elementary for 21 years! First teaching 3rd grade 1 year, Kindergarten, ACES Site Coordinator, 2nd grade teacher, and now 3rd grade teacher. I have a Masters in Elementary Education, and I hope to use my advanced skills in education to assist your child with all their academic and social needs.
My years in education have shaped a teaching philosophy that guides how I help my students succeed in the classroom and beyond. I truly believe that their success begins with making them comfortable in the classroom, therefore we start our year with several activities to allow them to be comfortable with who they are, who they are with, and where they are. I encourage them to share their questions and opinions in an unbiased and open environment.
After lots of preparation and training over the summer, I am geared up for another year of enriching the lives of my students with CKLA, Eureka Math Squared, Science, and Social Studies. I am fortunate to start the year off with many familiar faces from 2nd grade and this allows me to pick up right where we left off.
I encourage all parents to please reach out to me for any questions or concerns. It is my goal this year to have frequent conversations with all parents and make sure you are aware of your child’s progress throughout the school year.
I can’t wait to see the adventures that unfold in 3rd grade!
Best regards,
Mrs. Johnson
