I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1998 with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics Education. In 2003, I received my National Boards Certification, and I successfully renewed this certification in 2013. This is my 21st year of teaching and my 7th year at Northern.  I love teaching math and working with the students at Northern Guilford High School.  During the past 6 years at Northern, I have taught AP Calculus AB & BC, AP Statistics, Hon Precalculus, and Hon Math III.

I live in Brown Summit with my wife and four of my five daughters (my oldest daughter is in grad school at UNC-Chapel Hill). I enjoy going to church at South Elm Street Baptist Church, playing the drums, listening to music, playing basketball, and cheering for the Tarheels (I gladly accept any extra basketball or football tickets... but not for extra credit).

My teaching schedule for '18-'19 is:

    1st period: planning

    2nd period: AP Calculus AB

    3rd period: Math III

    4th period: Math III

    5th period: Math III

    6th period: AP Calculus BC

E-mail is the best way to communicate with me:

I use Google Drive to share my Assignment Calendar, Guided Notes, Worksheets, and Answer Keys.  All students should have access to these items via Google Drive.  If any student or parent would like access, please send me a request via e-mail and I will share my Drive with you.

    Materials Needed for all classes:
     - 3-ring binder with loose leaf paper & graph paper; pencils of course
     - TI-83 or 84 graphing calculator.  If you purchase something other than a TI-83 or 84, I might not be able to help you with it and you may not be able to use it on tests.

    Desired Donations:
    - Target Gift Cards

    - Office Depot Gift Cards

    - Tissues

    - TI-83+ or TI-84+ calculators (I realize this is an expensive donation, but we are in need of calculators each year that we can loan to students who cannot purchase their own.)
