I am Scott "Mr. Ike" Ilkenhons, IT Fundamentals, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering Technology and AP Comp Sci (Java) instructor for Northern Guilford High School. I am also the Robotics, and Game Developers coach.
Teaching Philosophy: Learning is a process over time, time is variable per student. If they chase knowledge and mastery over grades, perform personal best work with honor and integrity, then the grades will take care of themselves.
Personal Philosophy: John Lennon's Imagine sums it up.
I spent four years in the US Navy and a Plankowner on the first Aegis Destroyer, USS Arleigh Burke (DDG-51) as an Operation Specialist (OS2(sw)), where I had earned the moniker "Ike". I left industry after 15 years in computer and networking to teach. I have been teaching since December 2004.
I have been married to Jaimi since October 1993, and we have two beautiful girls. I love to create and play games; I have a special love for Chess. I am a co-founder of King Frog Entertainment. I am a huge Star Wars fan (OT, EU, and OR). I am also a hobby etymologist and polyglot.
