    Hello and welcome to Mr. McDowell's class/website/online realm. If you have not done so already, once you're done here, please head over to your course's respective Canvas page to join our Microsoft Teams classes, which we'll be using for orientation and video conferencing. Each course has its own Teams class, divided into channels for each period. Please make sure you head over there before classes start!

    I graduated from Western Carolina University (go Cats!) in 2007. This will be my fifth year at Northern Guilford High School, and I am proud to be a part of such an amazing staff. 2021-22 represents my ninth year teaching World History and my 5th year teaching AP World History, which are incidentally my two favorite classes to teach! I'm extremely excited for the year!

    Should you find yourself thinking "what is a nice thing I could do for Mr. McDowell?" we can always use the following here in beautiful Room 221:

    • Dry Erase Markers
    • Facial Tissue, no specific brand
    • Disinfectant wipes of some sort
    • Index Cards
    • Pencils and/or pens
    • Colored pencils
